THA was established in 1938 as a not-for-profit membership association, to serve as an advocate for hospitals, health systems and other healthcare organizations and the patients they serve. The Association also provides education and information for its members, and informs the public about hospitals and healthcare issues at the state and national levels. THA is the premiere organization in Tennessee that promotes and represents the interests of all hospitals and health systems. The Association also operates three subsidiary organizations to further support the work of THA and its members. The Tennessee Hospital Education and Research Foundation (THERF) is the educational arm of the Association. THERF is eligible to receive tax-deductible gifts to underwrite important educational programs for the benefit of THA and its members. While THA fulfills its advocacy and representation responsibilities as a not-for-profit trade association, it is different from the typical association because it operates several businesses through THA Solutions Group, Inc., the association's tax-paying corporation. THA Solutions Group endorses a variety of management and professional programs, which are offered on a fee-for-service basis to THA members. These programs include solutions that specialize in the following areas: Consulting Insurance Administration and Operations Management Facility/Project Management Financial Services Human Resources The Tennessee Rural Partnership (TRP) is another THA subsidiary. TRP seeks to maximize access to primary care in rural and underserved areas of Tennessee through the placement of physicians and other clinicians in these communities. Since its inception, TRP has placed more than 100 primary care providers in communities across the state. TRP focuses on placements for primary care physicians (family medicine, internal medicine, internal medicine/pediatrics, pediatricians, obstetrics/gynecology), nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Todd brings more than 30 years of experience designing commercial facilities in the areas of healthcare, educational, high-tech, multi-family, and hospitality facilities for both private and public clients. As the Director of the North Texas of Kirksey | th+a, he guides a team of professionals who are solutions focused and who invest great efforts and technical expertise toward each client’s success. As an architect, Todd believes it his responsibility to look at a project from all angles. Important in his approach is not only the physical aspects of a project, but also taking advantage of its environmental, operational, and psychological opportunities for the people the facility may serve. Anticipating his client’s needs is key to Todd's success in helping them achieve their project goals. Todd is a passionate community leader and active in numerous professional and civic organizations. His longtime involvement with the American Institute of Architects includes service in advocacy roles at the local, state, and federal levels. As president of AIA Dallas, Todd was key in establishing the Emerging Leaders Program which has received a national AIA award for grassroots excellence. His passions in the areas of homelessness, childhood poverty, and mental illness serve as a compass for his volunteer efforts. Todd is a registered Architect in multiple states including Texas, Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Maine, and others. Todd is a private pilot who enjoys traveling, golf, and time with his family.
