Saar Gillai is an accomplished business leader with senior executive experience in both startups and Fortune 50 companies. He has over 20 years of experience and expertise in building innovative businesses from inception to successful, multi-billion dollar operations. Saar is currently an active advisor and coach to multiple startups as well as a board director at Xilinx. Until November 2016, Saar was the Senior Vice President and General Manager of HPE’s Communications Solutions Business (CSB). He also led HPE’s Communications Service Provider vertical and was responsible for HPE’s overall Telco strategy. In this role he established HPE as a key player in the software-defined next generation service provider market; while growing network virtualization revenue by over 10x within 2+ years (from 10s of millions to 100s of millions). Before running Telco, Saar spent 2 years as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of HP Cloud where he played a vital role in aggressively driving and growing HP's cloud efforts into a full business unit with the number one market position in private cloud and a leadership position in the OpenStack community. Saar also served as VP/GM of Cloud Networking/CTO of HP Networking where he pioneered the concept and implementation of software-defined networking (SDN) in products such as HP Virtual Application Networks. Saar joined HP via the acquisition of 3Com, where he was SVP of worldwide products and solutions and a key architect in the reboot of 3Com into the enterprise space. Saar also played a pivotal role in the sale of 3Com to HP. Saar has held executive positions at Tropos Networks and Enfora; two startups focused on Wireless Mesh and M2M / IOT, and spent 7 years at Cisco Systems in a variety of leadership positions, including VP of Engineering for the Wireless Networking business unit.
