Having worked in Paris, London and New York, Damien Mauvais is a senior investment banker with over 20-year experience spanning across structured finance, capital markets, advisory, risk and portfolio management, covering predominantly the Energy/ Oil & Gas sector in Emerging Markets/ Africa. Damien is currently the Executive Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer at Standard New York of The Standard Bank of South Africa Group, the largest bank and the leading natural resources franchise in Africa with a presence in 27 countries around the world. He is responsible for the origination of investment banking transaction in the US for Standard Bank. From 2011 to 2021, he was Head of Oil and Gas Client Coverage for Europe at Standard Bank in London. Over his career Damien has led and book-run transactions in excess of $100bn for large multinationals, Energy companies, private equity, Emerging Market corporates and governments. Damien is fluent in English and French and authorized to work in the United States.
