My professional experience is in the area of sourcing / supply chain in addition to a highly developed perception of how supply relates to the overall function of quality, manufacturing, sales, and accounting. Experience in descending order: Global Sourcing Regional Sourcing Materials Management Inventory Control Purchasing Having a diverse background has allowed me to perceive not only the importance of supply in the manufacturing process, but also the specific needs, concerns, and risks by all those involved in making a company successful and sustainable. According to my experience: A sourcing manager is an analyst and a statistician, an auditor of supply chain strengths and weaknesses. They are a buyer, a contract manager, a logistics consultant, an engineer, a quality and R&D manager, and a supporter of product development and its life cycle. A sourcing manager is a negotiator that provides clear and relevant solutions that provide value through creativity and with fairness to others. A sourcing manager is a broad minded visionary who surveys the World from both a local and global view, and who interprets both the costs and benefits empirically. A sourcing manager’s efforts do not start with finding a supplier or end after agreement, but are dynamic to the constant improvement and oversight of supply. A sourcing manager is his employer’s salesman of need, an ambassador of the company who reflects integrity and truth to drive relationships that create growth for both parties. A sourcing manager must consider all input from executives, procurement, accountants, engineers, production managers, marketing, and sales; for the results managed by a sourcing professional must satisfy them all. My career has always been a lifelong journey through interaction with companies, systems, and people (most notably personalities,) and the desire to continue to learn and grow through these experiences.
