Prince William Network is the award-winning distance learning division of the Prince William County Schools in Northern Virginia. From electronic field trips to online courses, Prince William Network productions provide the best in instruction for students and relevant, efficiently-delivered professional development for teachers and administrators. Prince William Network was developed in 1992 by Prince William County Schools in collaboration with the Virginia Department of Education and the Virginia Satellite Network to provide quality, distance-learning opportunities to students, educators, and communities across Virginia, the nation, and even internationally. Since that time, Prince William Network has become an award-winning provider of live, electronic field trips for students. Programs often feature natural history and conservation subjects, most recently in partnership with the US Forest Service. Many programs are also provided in Spanish. Our distance learning adventures - or live electronic field trips - bring the excitement of discovery right to your classroom. You don't need to load up the buses, worry about the weather, or collect money. These electronic field trips enable classrooms to go to remote locations and ask questions of the experts - just like an on-site field trip. Programs are webcast on the project sites and are later archived on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/FSNatureLIVE), on FSNatureLIVE (http://FSNatureLIVE.org), and on the Prince William Network YouTube channel.
