Senior Vice President – Operations and Engineering

Penn Virginia Corporation (NYSE:PVA) is an independent oil and gas company engaged in the exploration, development and production of oil, NGLs and natural gas in various domestic onshore regions of the United States, with a primary focus in Texas, and other properties in the Mid-Continent, Mississippi and the Marcellus Shale in Appalachia.

Over the past 20+ years, I have built a reputation as the go-to Operations Manager for overhauling drilling, completions, and production organizations from top to bottom. Over the course of my career, I have been recruited by Chesapeake (Drilling Engineer), Oxy (Drilling Manager), Statoil (Drilling & Completions Manager), and Penn Virginia (Senior VP) to optimize onshore and offshore programs in Indonesia, Oman, Gulf of Mexico (GOM), and US land (Austin Chalk, Bakken, Eagle Ford & Marcellus / Utica). In my most recent role as Senior VP of Operations & Engineering with Penn Virginia, I led the company's drilling and completions teams to increase net product 173% from 2017 to 2020. I also guided teams to accelerate sales from new wells by 3 weeks while reducing lease operating expenses from $5.76 per BOE in 2017 to $3.70 per BOE in Q3 2020. At Oxy, I helped transform the company's global drilling organization to achieve consecutive business unit awards as a Drilling Manager (2006 to 2011), including Most Improved Business Unit, Best in Class Drilling HES Performance, and Top Driller (for the best-performing business unit). As an agile leader, I partner with leaders across all technical and management levels to optimize drilling, completions, and workover operations on-site (in-country, if required) and remotely. My leadership gives team members the autonomy to make critical decisions in the field, and I enjoy guiding the professional development of all staff, no matter their experience level. The oil and gas industry has allowed me to travel widely, and I spent 4 years based in Muscat, Oman, supervising engineering quality assurance on all drilling projects. These projects included Oxy's Mukhaizna steam flood project (2007 to 2009) and Oman North drilling operations (2009 to 2010). I also served as an Advising Deepwater Drilling Engineer for Unocal Indonesia Corporation during the early part of my career as a member of the 4-man drilling team over West Seno, which was the first deepwater development for the Republic of Indonesia. My experience optimizing operations for US land has given me the chance to work across some of the country's most challenging basins, including Austin Chalk, Bakken, Eagle Ford, and Marcellus / Utica formations.
