In 2012/13 acted as CEO of May Gurney PLC. Led a significant turnaround after profits warning and CEO departure. Sold the business at nearly 3.5 times the share price post the profit warning to Keir. This turnaround was recognised as the turnaround of 2013 at the Times award ceremony. Has chaired and led Executive teams to achieve significant results in the chaotic and rapidly changing deregulated UK energy market, leading acquisition and disposal of businesses, with successful integration of new and restructured teams. Successfully led ScottishPower through the deregulation of the UK energy market; as the most successful new entrant, and delivering the integration and change plans for the Iberdrola/ScottishPower merger. Involvement at the highest level with UK Governments utilising experience and skills on a variety of working groups with strategic and operational dimensions reporting into the UK Energy Minister/Director Generals. Also acts as a special advisor to a variety of boards and also does senior management mentoring. Current NED Roles Chairman Fallago Rig a JV between a Hermes Capital and Edf Renewables Chairman Ogilvie Group Construction/Fleet.
