I'm a strong marketing leader with over 18 years experience across all disciplines including strategy and activity planning, media, communications,brand and campaign development, strong agency management and negotiations skills, overhauling business models to improve ways of working and efficiencies. Underpinned with a real passion to empower, develop and mentor strong teams and individuals. Benefiting from working agency side in my earlier career it has given me a real understanding and empathy for how agencies operate and how to the get the best out of them both on campaign outputs and also service commitments. Having spent 15 years with ASDA I found my passion for developing colleagues, bringing the best out in others and being a champion of flexible working within a fast paced and demanding retail operation. It also provided me with a great foundation for all marketing disciplines by having the opportunity to work in a variety of roles and work collaboratively with all functions and levels in the organisation. I led a 50+ strong Strategy & Activity Planning team the role/team were responsible for landing a brand new structure with new roles created and a new way of working required. The key priorities were to land the new structure with the right people in the right roles and land a cross functional strategic and planning capability across the business including ASDA, George, ASDA.com, General Merchandise, Local and store development, Events and the Entertainment council. Leading to one customer centric strategy and plan which positively influenced both the customer metrics and the marketing campaigns. My colleagues and team know me as a highly trusted, committed, loyal colleague and an advocate and champion of change who creates a clear vision for the team, engaging cross functionally to deliver collaborative plans and a leader who always has the time to mentor and support other departments.
