I am the Managing Director for Moog-Focal in Halifax, Nova Scotia and also have overall responsibility for Tritech, a Moog Inc company headquartered out of Europe. The group is a dynamic, fast-paced design and manufacturing company with over 200 employees. Our products and services are used world-wide and are primarily for offshore oil & gas and defense applications. With the Managing Director role, I have full P&L responsibility for the Halifax location and includes safety, sales and marketing, engineering, HR, operations, finance and supply chain. The primary activities in this role range from working with customers and corporate peers, managing people, technology development, strategy as well as optimizing margins for new business and existing product lines. In terms of my background, I am a Professional Engineer who recently earned my Executive MBA. I am part of the corporate leadership team, global marine and energy strategy team and have supported acquisition due diligence efforts as well as the integration of new acquisitions. These responsibilities are exciting to be a part of and are great enhancements to the Managing Director role. The company has evolved from private ownership through two corporate acquisitions and has experienced significant growth during this time. I have changed roles and added responsibilities on a number of occasions in order to bring maximum results to the company in all aspects of the business. This includes strategic and annual planning, leading and supporting corporate and company‐wide initiatives, product development and launch as well as customer sales and supply chain management. As well, I have significant experience with legal, compensation, staff development and developing and implementing changes within the organization. I have more recently been focused on specific strategic thrusts around driving talent development, improving time to market as well as global business development initiatives.
