Prior to attending Rock Valley College, I worked in the service industry. I managed at KFC and Long John Silver's in Dekalb, IL. This was my first management and leadership position, and it opened my eyes to how businesses run. I then worked for Merry Maids which taught me the value of hard work and excellent customer service. I worked as a tutor at Rock Valley College's Tutoring Center while attending school and helped students to better understand course material. I was also the V.P. of Operations for Global Small Business Incubator (RVC) which is a non-profit company run by students in the capstone business course for my A.A.S. degree in Business Administration. My tutoring position helped me to build on my training skills. My position in GSBI has shown me the inside workings of business and introduced me to new skill sets while building on the old. Upon graduating, I embarked on my internship with Sam's Club where I was fortunate enough to learn about the inner workings of large chain retail management. While only a short 12 week internship, my time with Sam's Club truly was an enlightening experience. I am proud of my contributions as an intern with them and hope to see Sam's Club implement some of the ideas our groups created to address the always changing retail environment. I am currently with Bag Makers, Inc. which started quite literally in a barn! I would never in my wildest dreams have imagined the many different applications of bags within the promotional products industry. I have been fortunate to be given the opportunity to work in Customer Service, Order Entry, and now Order Processing.
