As an APR-certified, results-driven public relations professional with nearly 20 years of experience, I have facilitated corporate communications and public relations for the largest provider of healthcare in Ohio, managed crisis response for the largest provider of passenger transportation in North America, served as lead speechwriter for the CEO of a major insurance company, and worked with national media to promote the world’s largest seasonal theme park. I’ve led teams responsible for innovative media relations campaigns, spanning both traditional and social media channels. Our work has received a variety of industry awards from PRSA and IABC, and I was recently named one of three Mortar Board National Honor Society’s Emerging Leaders - which recognizes young professionals across the country for their achievements in leadership, scholarship and service. I have extensive on-camera public affairs experience, recently serving as chief spokesperson for a transportation firm with 80,000 active vehicles and nearly 100,000 employees. I was responsible for international issues response for a variety of high-profile incidents, including fatal accidents, hijackings and employee violence issues. I worked with company leaders to train and prepare them for on-camera interviews, and refined our enterprise-wide crisis communication plan. Working with our internal communication team, I made sure our message platform was conveyed in associate memos, newsletters and magazines, as well as during associate events and on the intranet. Outside of the office, I am very involved in the community, serving on the board of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, as well as the Public Relations Society of America.
