I am an international corporate lawyer with extensive global experience in advising and managing legal and business issues across the full breadth of operations of multinational companies. I use my strong legal, analytical, strategic, leadership, relationship building and business development skills to help multinational businesses grow and win in complex environments. I am passionate about governance, anti-corruption, accountability, integrity and AML/CFT issues. As Chief Legal Officer, I am leveraging decades of international experience across the entire spectrum of legal practice to guide businesses to operate with ethics and integrity within the parameters of law and regulation. I enjoy providing thought leadership within the industry and in academic institutions in India and internationally to contribute to the shaping of laws, regulations and public policies. I am constantly striving to learn and add to my own competencies and skill sets. I have practiced in law firms in the US and UK and chaired the South Asia Practice for a large international law firm based in Boston. My international law firm experience has helped me in heading legal, compliance and regulatory functions for formidable Indian corporate groups. My expertise is in handling complex transactions such as joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions etc.; providing end to end contracting support; ensuring compliance, rendering general legal advice; providing strategic inputs, risk assessment, and direction in corporate initiatives; handling large scale and complex litigation and arbitration both in India and overseas; managing Government Relations, Public Policy and dealing with law enforcement agencies; overseeing SEC and NYSE filings; managing external legal counsels and law firms. I am also deeply interested in academic/theoretical issues related to law and business and I love teaching. I serve on the Executive Board of the Yale Law School and have been a speaker at Yale Law School, Harvard Business School, Harvard Kennedy School of Public Policy and Global Jindal University.
