I have been enjoying an effective and challenging career in the IT and Cyber Security field for over 30 years. Throughout my career, I have held numerous positions, supported many business initiatives, managed critical projects, and expanded my skillset to take on new responsibilities. I started my IT career at Egghead Discount Software as a sales associate and built up an extensive working knowledge of hundreds of desktop applications. I moved to Parsons Engineering where I started managing the IT Inventory and moved to a tier 3 level support role for several large programs. My career took me to UniHealth where I provided technical support for a new decision support system to help the business determine best practices for medial care. After the completion of the project, I moved to an internal technical advisor where I worked with departments and groups to determine technical solutions to solve their gaps and issues. I then moved to Pacific Sierra Research. I was brought on as the manager of IT and then moved to director of IT. I managed a great team of people that exceled at providing robust and reliable IT solutions. Pacific Sierra Research was purchased by Veridian and I continued my role as director if IT for my division. In this role, I managed a larger group of internal employees and CSC contractors. Later, Veridian was purchased by General Dynamics Mission Systems. As the business changed, I moved to a project manager role managing IT infrastructure, applications and cyber security projects. I then moved into a cyber security manager role where I ensured the business was compliant to NIST 800-53 requirements and supported internal reviews and audits. Looking to expand my responsibilities in cyber security, I joined MasterBrand Cabinets where I manage the cyber security group, efforts, tools and projects. During my career, I have developed an approach to align the business strategy with IT solutions, risk management with the business risk appetite and requirements, and business challenges with changes in technology. This approach and management style has resulted in numerous successful projects, implementation of an effective cyber security program at General Dynamics and MasterBrand Cabinets, effective collaboration environment between the cyber security program and the business.
