Loggerhead Marinelife Center Inc is a healthcare organisation which provides Sea Turtle Research, Sea Turtle Rehabilitation, Public Education, Oceanside Visitor Attraction, and conservation.
Kate offers expertise areas in financial management, retail operations, eCommerce, branding and creation of highly performance teams. She started with the Loggerhead Marinelife Center in January of 2000. Her business background has been instrumental in the growth and expansion of the facility as it stands today. Kate’s initial position at Loggerhead Marinelife Center was Director of Finance and HR. She shifted to Director of Retail Operations in November of 2013 and has expanded the retail operations substantially. Under her retail management leadership, the portfolio for Loggerhead Marinelife Center has expanded from one retail operation to five including the campus store at Loggerhead Marinelife Center, Juno Beach Pier, Manatee Lagoon, Tortuga Café, and the Loggerhead Marinelife Center eCommerce platform (https://www.shop-marinelife.org/) resulting in triple digit growth. Mission centric offerings and sustainable commerce has been a vision for Kate and is evident in the offerings available to consumers. Kate took the lead in creating the Choice Matters program engaging retail suppliers and customers to shop with the environment in mind (see publication 3). In 2020, Kate took lead responsibility for the design and buildout of the next generation retail store at Loggerhead Marinelife Center which opened in November 2020. All proceeds from the retail division at Loggerhead Marinelife Center are used for programming and sea turtle rehabilitation enabling free admission for the public. In October 2021, Kate was promoted to Vice President of Retail assuming responsibility for the planning and growth of the newly created Event Spaces. Prior to joining LMC, Kate’s experience includes over 10 years of sales and management positions with several major corporations including Paychex, Inc., a Fortune 1000 company. In the past, Kate volunteered for Big Dog Ranch Rescue and Coastal Poodle Rescue and was the treasurer for Girls on the Run. Her hobbies include running, biking, hiking and tennis. Being part of the continuous success and opportunities the center is providing for sea turtle rehabilitation, sea turtle research and education for the public and private sector in relation to Florida’s ecosystem is Kate’s passion.
