From its first facility in Hendersonville, North Carolina, Laurel has grown to 37 nursing facilities and 6 assisted living facilities or independent living apartments, spanning five states. In 2016, Laurel Health Care Company merged with Ciena Healthcare of Southfield, Michigan. Ciena was founded in 1998 and is similar in size to Laurel operating 36 skilled nursing facilities in Michigan. Both Laurel and Ciena share the same guiding principles of Care, Excellence and Commitment. The combined companies have significant financial stability and management resources and are well prepared to continue exceeding the expectations of its guests well into the future.
