I have been in the marketing research industry since 2001 across Malaysia, Australia & currently in Singapore which is a regional hub for Asia Pacific. During this period of time, I took on a variety of roles including client servicing, syndicated research, brand tracking, multi-country projects, brand health & business development. Over the last 15 years my passion has been in building profitable businesses in Asia Pacific from scratch. I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunities to do just that for Research Now (now known as Dynata), FocusVision & currently for Language Connect. As employee #1 for Research Now in Asia, I grew the Asia business from zero revenue & zero client to USD 7-digit per annum turnover in just 18 months, making Research Now to the leading online panel supplier along the way despite being the newest entrant to the highly competitive markets. I was headhunted to head up FocusVision in 2011 when the Asia Pacific business entity was newly setup & turning over very low 6-digit revenue with a small pool of clients in Singapore. By 2013, we achieved 7-digit turnover & expanded client base to Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Australia, Thailand, Philippines, India, Malaysia & Vietnam. I also grew the team from 2 to 9 employees. As Executive Director for THG Fluently (formerly known as Language Connect), based in Singapore my role includes setting up the Asia Pacific business from scratch, new business development, P&L & overall management of business. The business became profitable within 7 months & is now a team of 10. I speak and write fluently in English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Hakka, Hokkien & Bahasa (Malaysia & Indonesia).
