Nikhil is a Managing Director at Standard Chartered Bank, based in Singapore. He is the co-head of the general industries group. Previously, he was a Managing Director in Macquarie Capital’s Investment Banking Division, based in Singapore, covering the general industries (Industrials, consumer, retail) sector in Asia. Prior to joining Macquarie, Nikhil was the Head of Mergers & Acquisitions for Asia Ex-Japan for Nomura Securities, based in Hong Kong. Prior to taking on this role, he was a Managing Director in Nomura’s India Investment Banking team based in Mumbai where he was a senior client coverage officer. His primary coverage responsibility included the general industrial sector and financial sponsor clients. In addition, he was responsible for covering Nomura’s industrial sector clients in Southeast Asia. Previously Nikhil was the head of Mergers & Acquisitions for Lehman Brothers in India. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers’ India coverage team in December 2006, he was a member of Lehman Brothers’ Asia Corporate Finance Group based in Hong Kong, where he was responsible for coverage of clients in the industrial sector across Asia ex-Japan. Prior to moving to Hong Kong in March 2005, Nikhil was a member of the Mergers & Acquisitions Group in Tokyo, where he was responsible for cross-border M&A execution and transaction development in Japan. Nikhil began his career at Lehman Brothers in August 2000 in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group in New York, where he was based until April 2004. Nikhil's M&A transaction experience includes advising leading US and Asian corporations as well as financial sponsors. His capital markets experience, particularly in Asia, includes a balanced mix of equity, equity-linked, and high yield transactions. Prior to joining Lehman Brothers in 2000, he worked in public accounting for KPMG's Washington, DC office for 3 years.
