As the leader of one of the world’s top contract furniture manufacturers, KI, CEO Dick Resch has relied on innovation and determination to guide the company for more than four decades. Beginning at KI in 1964, Resch was soon promoted to Executive Assistant. Resch rose through the ranks, becoming a Vice President, Executive Vice President, President and CEO, and eventually CEO, the title he currently holds. Throughout his tenure, professional organizations and the people of Green Bay, Wisconsin, have recognized him for his contributions to business and the community at large. The continued growth of KI has earned Dick Resch regional and national recognition. He was named Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year in 1995 and then Entrepreneur of the Year in 1996. A decade later, Resch was featured in “Mavericks at Work: Why the Most Original Minds in Business Win,” by William C. Taylor and Polly Labarre. In 2007, he was inducted into the Sales and Marketing Executives Hall of Fame, joining the CEOs of some of the nation’s most recognizable companies, including jetBlue, Southwest Airlines, and FedEx. While he has been recognized repeatedly for innovations in the workplace, Dick Resch has also made a name for himself for his philanthropic efforts. His contributions to the people of Green Bay are evident on the buildings that bear his name and the KI logo, including the KI Convention Center and the Resch Center arena, the Resch Olympic Pavilion and Resch Aquatic Center. The children and families of Green Bay have directly benefited from Resch’s contributions to the YMCA, Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, Bay Area Humane Society, public schools, and the Boys & Girls Clubs. In addition, he has donated to his alma mater, contributing $1 million to an effort to recruit crew coaches at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
