I’m Gabe Krajicek (rhymes with magic) — after being accepted to medical school in hopes of being a surgeon, an aptitude test confirmed that my hand-eye coordination was in the lower 15th percentile. So with a pre-med Zoology degree, I set my sights on becoming an entrepreneur. I had zero experience, but I’d learned a lot from my dad who was a business leader. I heard some version of “love your employees” as long as I can remember. So, with very little else to go on, I decided that I would win or fail with that as my north star. I hoped that by loving my employees, plus lots of hard work, and a little luck, the rest would fall into place — it did. I was passionate about company culture at 21 and now in my 40s I’m more passionate about it than ever. As Kasasa’s CEO, I have the great privilege of leading the only fintech company whose mission is to restore community banks and credit unions to their rightful place as the bedrock of our economy. These institutions play a vital role in their communities. Through our network of client financial institutions we harness the analytical scale of tens of millions of consumer accounts and the reach of the 4th largest branch network. Our clients wield half a trillion dollars in assets and we provide them with products that take consumers’ best interests to heart. Institutions that offer Kasasa attract, engage, and retain consumers who would otherwise choose megabanks or fintechs. Our clients offer a level of service and care that outshines every competitor. I’ve navigated our company through some troubled waters, including having federal regulators declare our product illegal (twice as a matter of fact), but every time, we fell back on our values, recommitted to our purpose, and came through better positioned to help our clients win.
