I have learned that managing a technical product is not about a certain development methodology - it is about people. In the beginning, you look at a problem that a user has and determine how your product can help satisfy their needs. Then you work with your team to build the product, market it, sell it, support it, and in the end if everything has worked out - you get to watch people use it. Product management is not about managing the people around you but understanding their needs and communicating with them throughout the process. Having a bit of creativity, a sense of humor, and little bit of fun certainly helps.
