An entrepreneur at heart, Sandro Stephen started his career as a sales executive in 2005. Having worked with brands like Max New York Life Insurance, Airtel and Petersons Travel Services, Stephen was always keen to explore his entrepreneurial side, in a quest to build something credible. It was then that he started on his own startup journey by establishing Dossier placement, a HR/recruitment and SaaS company serving global clients such as Target, Standard Chartered Bank, and many others. Lack of funds forced Stephen to shut his startup back then, but he always had his heart in the startup world. It was then in 2013 that Stephen joined Indian Angel Network, India’s first and World’s largest network of angel investors known to be supporting and mentoring new businesses. At present, Stephen is the Vice President at IAN. In less than a year at IAN, he initiated and started the Hyderabad Chapter for the network and helped grow the investor base in the city, besides handling Delhi NCR, Mumbai and Bangalore.. Stephen primarily looks at sourcing and evaluating deals for fundraising, building relations with existing and new potential investors, and building partnerships with Startup ecosystem enablers across India such as IIT's and IIM’s, TiE, Nasscom to name a few. He has successfully sourced many startups including Myspinny, Fareye, Gadgewood, SP Robotics, SmartVizx, DesignBid, Squareplums, Public Vibe, Little Black Book, Wedmegood, Mobycy, Nivesh and many others in which IAN and IAN Fund has invested and have got successful exits in a few. Today, Stephen not only sources fundable deals but is actively involved in mentoring young entrepreneurs and is on the Investment committee of a couple of leading incubators in IIT's and IIM's.
