Sandra is the Chief Operations Officer at ENGAGE XR Holdings. She co-founded the company, alongside her husband, David Whelan in 2014. During that period, she also worked as a Senior Editor and Content Creator for a top ranked virtual reality website, where she developed a strong rapport with key software developers in the industry. Sandra has significant experience working with large corporations’ contract management and accounts management. She has enjoyed being a judging panel member for the Waterford Local Enterprise Irelands Best Young Entrepreneur Competition in both 2017 and 2018, where she assisted in the judging of finalists for three National Category Awards; ‘Best Business Idea’, ‘Best Start Up Business’ and ‘Best Established Business’. In March of 2018, along with her team she successfully listed VR Education Holdings on the London and Irish Stock Exchange. Following this, she was the recipient of The Irish Times Business People of the Month Award for March 2018 and finalists for the EOY Entrepreneur of the Year Awards 2018 under the Emerging Category. In June 2018 she became an advisor to the board of Crystal Valley Tech and has been a member of the New Frontiers evaluation board since 2018 where she enjoys meeting with candidates who are beginning their start up journeys. . Sandra was a finalist in the 2019 Irish Women's Awards which recognizes female professionals in all industries. That year, she also joined the Local Enterprise Office Evaluation Committee. In April 2020, Sandra was delighted to mentor at Techstars Global Online Startup Weekend Unite to Fight Covid-19 Ireland. In February 2021, Sandra, along with her co-founder David Whelan were the winners of the Waterford Business Awards Entrepreneur of the Year.
