Founded in 1871, our company started with one man, Carl Heinrich Hellmann, using a horse-drawn cart to deliver parcels in and around the town of Osnabrueck, northern Germany. Four generations later, Carl s great-grandchildren, Jost and Klaus, own and run the company with an active network in 157 countries. Today we operate a truly global organization while remembering our humble beginnings: we continue to value every customer and understand that each project requires a unique solution. He has a unique & pragmatic understanding of business, logistics & supply chain, its use as a competitive weapon, to drive customer facing solutions that add value, differentiate, drive service standards, performance improvement & the bottom line Chris has a solid record in spearheading growth in diverse & competitive industries. He has a broad senior exec experience (BOD, CEO, GM) across general management & admin; people management; finance; sales & marketing; operations; information systems & technology; compliance; consulting; business planning & strategy; market communications & PR Since 1996 Chris has held the role as MD (NZ) of Hellmann Worldwide Logistics, a 4th generation privately owned entity which operates high-performance products across Air & Sea, Road+Rail & Contract Logistics within 162 countries Previously Chris held the role as GM (NZ) Exel Intl Freight. Prior to that Chris spent 14 years with publicly listed Owens Group, where he held GM roles across sales & marketing, contract logistics, supply chain consulting, as well as SMT roles in transport, container storage & maintenance, intl shipping agency An accomplished speaker, Chris has presented regularly at Auckland University Business Schools short courses in logistics & supply. He previously established a supply chain consultancy practice harnessing an international business partner network Between 2007 & 2011 Chris completed 4 full Ironman triathlons, in his view a mental battle far harder than the physical & one of the most challenging & best possible life experiences
