I’m a dreamer, creator, engineer, scientist, entrepreneur and lifelong learner who enthusiastically charges toward new challenges. I’ve lead and created solutions ranging from mobile applications to high performance scientific computing. I want to build a more efficient world with solutions that improve productivity and access to information. Finding elegant solutions to complex problems, perfecting algorithms, and seeking new challenges energizes me. I earned a PhD in astrophysics for developing new simulation techniques for understanding gravitational microlensing leading to new insights in black hole accretion disk physics. Before my dissertation, there was a know problem in quasar microlensing analysis where the random stellar motions of the lens galaxy stars were not being considered. My advisor declared that it was impossible to account for these motions in simulations, but this drove me to find a solution. I ran ideas by my advisor, however he said it was too risky and forbid me to work on it for fear that I wouldn’t complete my dissertation on time. Instead, I persisted with intense focus and quickly demonstrated a working algorithm all while learning about distributed computing. Finally, I was able to generate and validate my results on a supercomputer and complete my dissertation on time by solving the "impossible".
