I can truly say that I have aviation/aerospace in my blood, having grown up in a military family as my father was a fighter pilot in the German Air Force. This also influenced my brother to become a commercial airline pilot with Lufthansa. After four generations of pilots in our family tree, I decided to do something different with my life but still ended up in the same industry. Go figure! I have around 20 years of aerospace business experience under my belt, both on the military and commercial aviation side. The last 13 years of my career I have been involved on the sales side of commercial aerospace, covering MRO services such as selling component maintenance services, component trading (sale/loan/exchange & purchasing) as well as Aircraft-on-Ground (AOG) services. In the latter 9 years I have actively managed different sales teams of up to 12 employees at one point.
