First Virginia Community Bank is a state-chartered bank serving small and mid-sized businesses and personal banking customers in Northern Virginia. Locally owned and managed, it's based in Fairfax, Virginia, and has additional full-service offices in Arlington, Manassas and Reston.

David W. Pijor is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of FVCbank, with offices in Fairfax, Arlington, Prince William and Loudoun Counties. Mr. Pijor was the lead organizer of the Bank, which opened its doors on November 27, 2007. FVCbank serves small to mid-sized business and commercial clients and focuses on providing credit and cash management products to government contractors, not for profit organizations and professional service firms, among other industry segments. On October 19, 2012, FVCbank acquired 1st Commonwealth Bank of Virginia in an all stock transaction, marking the first acquisition for the five-year-old bank. With the acquisition, FVCbank gained $48 million in loans and $54 million in deposits, as well as 1st Commonwealth’s former banking office located at 2500 Wilson Boulevard, bringing FVCbank to total assets in excess of $410 million. Prior to the organization of First Virginia Community Bank, Mr. Pijor was the lead organizer of James Monroe Bank. From June 8, 1998 until its sale to Mercantile Bancshares in May 2006. Mr. Pijor served as the Chairman of its Board of Directors and General Counsel and, along with its President, guided its meteoric growth. During that eight year period, the Bank grew to over $740 million in total assets and generated total returns of over 10x to its initial shareholders. Prior to assuming the role of Chief Executive Officer of First Virginia Community Bank, Mr. Pijor was a practicing attorney with offices in Fairfax, Virginia. During his 30 plus years in practice, Mr. Pijor focused on business law and transactions with an emphasis on taxation. He also developed an estate and tax planning practice. Mr. Pijor graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in Economics with High Distinction and Georgetown University Law Center with a Juris Doctor degree. He is currently a member of the Bar in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
