I'm passionate about software development and its ability to realize an idea from beginning-to-end. This has driven my career in varied directions and contributed to my background in infrastructure, data pipelines, systems design, architecture and engineering leadership. With over 25 years of leadership experience in 15 roles at 11 different companies and an advisor to a dozen more spanning enterprise, internet, commerce, PKI, online video and platform services industries, I've seen some amazing successes and faced big challenges. I’m fortunate to have participated in 4 IPOs, 3 non-IPO exits and ~40 M&A events. I've had the privilege to work with and learn from some of Silicon Valley’s most amazing leaders and entrepreneurs and have helped build tech that 100's of millions of people have used to connect, collaborate, secure and bring entertainment into their lives. I’ve been instrumental in hiring, mentoring, coaching and celebrating with some of the best minds in the world and watched them grow into amazing VCs, CEOs, VPs, and Architects. Constitute the first Cloud Operations Group to facilitate Netflix's evolution into a purely cloud service. - Standardized and built a highly scalable production operations environment for VeriSign's Security Services Division with Engineering teams in every corner of the globe, then adopted and reshaped a floundering world wide IT organization into a world class solutions provider - Be a pioneer in the cloud revolution before "Cloud"​ was popularized while responsible for building and scaling LoudCloud's (Opsware) infrastructure during the first online revolution. - Instrumental in building Web 1.0 with Organic, Inc. bringing legitimacy to online businesses. - Recognize the opportunity in an ever expanding and connected world to build a chronic disease management platform at HealthDesk.com connecting doctors and their patients over the internet to track and manage their disease enabling superior outcomes.
