Michael Ross, MD, FAAP, FACMI, is the the Ambulatory Chief Medical Information Officer of Eastern Maine Medical Center (EMMC), and a practicing General Pediatrician at EMMC Pediatrics, in Bangor, Maine. Dr. Ross splits his time 60/40% between Medical Informatics and General Pediatrics. Dr. Ross graduated from his pediatric residency at Tufts-New England Medical Center in 2003, and has been practicing in Maine since that time. From 2009-2014, Michael served as the co-chair of the Maine branch of the American Academy of Pediatrics quality improvement committee, and was the primary clinical consultant for the Children’s Health Insurance Program Re-authorization Act - Improving Health Outcomes for Children (CHIPRA/IHOC). As lead Physician of EMMC Pediatrics (2011-2015), Dr. Ross pioneered practice and system-wide improvements in pediatric care with a focus on health care delivery through maximizing the benefits of the Electronic Medical Record. In 2015, Dr. Ross combined his love of healthcare technology and outpatient medicine by accepting the role of Chief Medical Information Officer of the outpatient practices of Eastern Maine Medical Center. Dr. Ross is board certified in both Pediatrics (2003) and Medical Informatics (2015). His clinical interests include management of chronic disease to reduce hospitalization, as well as Computerized Provider Order Entry (CPOE), embedded clinical protocols via EMR, and enhancing Computerized Decision Support (CDS). Michael is married to his Kimberly Ross, a preschool teacher. They have 2 boys, Alex and Max.
