With a career in banking spanning 25 years, I have gained valuable experience in a broad range of areas from corporate banking, project and asset finance, syndicated loans agency to more recently, corporate restructuring, turn-around and value driven balance sheet run off. Such a wide breadth of experience in banking has allowed me the opportunity to develop numerous transferrable skills, including a leadership style that facilitates solutions and develops those reporting to me. Strong analytical skills, intuition, integrity and empathy provide me with a strong foundation to deliver an effective contribution towards any finance related role. I have excellent relationship building skills from working with small owner managed businesses to executive board members of listed companies. I have a self-disciplined and determined attitude to problem solving, balanced with an inquisitive, outgoing personality that ensure results are delivered in cooperation with others. I am currently a Team Leader in the DVB Credit and Asset Solution Group with responsibility for the divestment of a large portfolio of non-core shipping and offshore loans. My team consisted of six geographically diverse senior professionals at its peak and we successfully managed US$1.35bn of exposure reduction in four years, outperforming our targets each year. Before joining DVB, I worked as a restructuring professional with ABN AMRO, a role which was merged into the Royal Bank of Scotland, when RBS concluded their take-over of ABN in in 2008. Having gain experience across a multitude of international large corporate cases between 2006 and 2009, I developed a niche focusing more on distressed and special situations within the RBS shipping portfolio. This led to an opportunity to be part of a select team that successfully exited US$4.5bn of non-performing loans between 2014 - 2016. Before moving to ABN, I had successfully navigated my way to a senior role in the RBS Project Finance portfolio power generation and infrastructure team. During this period the well-publicised failure of Enron and the crash of wholesale electricity prices presented me new opportunities to tackle difficult situations with clients, sponsors and other lenders that I had not experienced before. As the DVB Bank amortisation plan reaches its conclusion in the next 15 months, I hope to be able to direct my skills and experiences towards my next challenge in the financial services sector be it Ship Finance, Asset Finance, Project Finance or Infrastructure Finance related.
