With an enrollment of more than 25,000 students, DePaul University is the largest Catholic university in North America and the largest private, nonprofit university in the Midwest. The School of Accountancy and Management Information Systems at DePaul University is committed to offering a high quality educational program in Internal Auditing. Development of the internal auditing program began in 2007 with insight into the skills valued by the profession provided by an Advisory Board, comprised of Chief Audit Executives, Internal Audit Directors, as well as Executive Directors of Advisory Services at accounting firms and support from the Chicago Chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors. DePaul University became a Partner Level school in the Institute of Internal Auditor's Internal Auditing Education Partnership (IAEP) Program in 2009. DePaul is one of only fourteen schools in the USA (26 internationally) to be recognized with this honor. The School of Accountancy & Management Information Systems offers a concentration in Internal Auditing for its undergraduate major in Accounting.

Barb Flis founded Parent Action for Healthy Kids more than twenty years ago with a vision and passion to bring families, schools and communities together for the purpose of improving the physical, social, emotional and academic success of children. She is a nationally recognized thought leader, skilled facilitator, and parent program designer. Her experience bringing key stakeholders together and motivating them to be positive, engaged partners and active advocates for children and adolescents is second to none. From her humble beginnings as a grass-roots PTA Mom, Barb continues to bring the parent voice to the table in education, mental health and public health initiatives. This includes work at all levels (local, state and federal governmental and non-governmental organizations). Notable is her work on former Governor Jennifer Granholm’s Pregnancy Prevention Initiative. The sex education parent program Talk Early & Talk Often© designed for that initiative is in its fifteenth year. Also notable is her work with former First Lady Michelle Obama in the development of the parent toolkit for the “Let’s Move” initiative. Barb’s uncanny ability to listen to others and help them re-frame traditional views on families in a way that celebrates all who support children has been the key to making her vision a reality. Barb holds a Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies, summa cum laude, 2002 and a Master of Interdisciplinary Studies, 2012 from Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. In 2019 she became a Life Coach, and in 2020 joined DePaul University as an Adjunct Professor.
