COPC was established in 1996 when a group of 33 physicians chose to focus more on the quality of patient care they were providing and less on the administrative paperwork.The result was the creation of an administrative support team that gave doctors more freedom to do what they do best - practice medicine.

Angelo is the Chief Information Officer of COPCP. Central Ohio Primary Care Physicians is the largest physician-owned primary care group in the United States with over 300 out-patient providers and Hospitalists. COPC also offers full-service laboratory services, complete radiology services and cardiac testing. COPCP's most important achievement continues to be providing the highest quality of health care to our patients. Angelo was previously the President of Pillar Technology Group. Pillar is a business innovation and technology consulting company that helps clients achieve their business innovation goals through modern techniques and technology. Angelo was the Chief Information Officer of Progressive Medical. Progressive Medical is a nationwide, managed, health care, cost containment company. It coordinates care for workers' compensation, auto-no-fault and personal injury protection cases. Angelo was the vice president and chief information officer of The Dispatch Printing Company and Affiliates. Angelo also held significant roles with Andersen Consulting (now called Accenture), NCGroup/CompuCom, Nationwide Insurance, and NCR. He has served as an adjunct faculty member of the Ohio State University and Otterbein University since 1991. Angelo serves on the Boards of Gladden Community Settlement House Board, Pillar, and Technology Advisory Board of OCLC. Angelo and his teams have been the recipient of awards including Technology Innovation Team and Service Provider, TopCAT Executive of the Year, TopCAT Large Technology Team of the Year, TopCAT Technology Service Provider of the Year, Information Week 500 Technology Innovation, ComputerWorld 100 Best Places to Work in IT, CIO100 finalist, GroundWork Group Volunteer of the Year, and Ohio Cancer Research Associates Honoree.
