CMC Markets is a betting and currency trading platform that allows users to make investments.

I am currently Chief Market Analyst at CMC Markets UK. I have worked in and around financial markets and busy trading floors since 1988, with a particular interest in charts and technical analysis. In that time I have experienced the real highs and lows of trading, from trading currencies at CBA to teaching students the finer points of charts and technical analysis as well as the importance of using effective risk management. My primary focus at CMC Markets is commenting on the daily movements in financial markets, as well as specific research pieces that have relevance to events at the time. These summaries and research pieces are also made available to the media as well as CMC Markets clients. I appear fairly regularly on BBC News, CNN, Bloomberg and CNBC as well as on a number of overseas networks including Fox Business, CBS and Canada's CTV and BNN. I have come top of the FX Week currency forecast rankings several times over the past few years for my accuracy in the one month, three month and twelve month forecasts on the major FX currency pairs of the euro, sterling, Swiss franc and Japanese yen. In 2019, I was honoured to be nominated in the annual CityAM awards in the category Analyst of the Year, where I received a "High Commendation" for my work. In 2022, I was delighted and and honoured to be nominated again. Also in 2019, I was delighted and honoured to have won “Best In-House Analysts” at The Professional Trader Awards. My background is in Foreign exchange trading, spending 6 years trading currencies and forwards, using charts and technical analysis. I spent 12 years working for a market data company delivering Technical Analysis education and support to a wide ranging audience over the last 20 years. My audiences ranged from experienced traders as well as private investors, corporate and retail, and academics. In my time teaching delivered seminars on the subject of Trading and Technical Analysis at the World Money Show, London Business School, London Stock Exchange and a number of business schools throughout the country. I have an MSTA from the UK Society of Technical Analysts (STA) and also a CFTe from the International Federation of Technical Analysts (IFTA).
