Member Experience Specialist

The JCC serves 50,000 people, representing 98 communities and every age and ability. It engages the community through its health and wellness centers, preschools, camps, and programs for children, families, adults, young adults, teens and seniors. The mission of the JCC is to advance the aspirations of families and individuals to enrich their lives, bodies, and spirits, by providing the best in contemporary programs and experiences, informed by Jewish values for today's Jews and the people in their lives. Recently completed a Master's Degree in Near Eastern & Judaic studies with a concentration in Jewish Education, the arts, and social justice. As a culminating assignment for the degree, I incorporated my interests in all of these areas to create a program proposal to use Theater of the Oppressed to empower LGBT Jews. While at Brandeis I also served as a writing tutor for Non-native English speakers who are Brandeis students. Outside of Brandeis, I devoted my time to the Boston Jewish Community. I taught seventh grade social justice at a local supplementary Jewish religious school, Temple Beth Avodah. I also volunteered with the Jewish Community Relations Council's Reach Out! program which brings together young Jewish professionals from the Boston area to volunteer at service sites in greater Boston. This past spring I served as a co-site captain at the Golda Meir House in Newton,MA where I, along with my co-captain, facilitated an intergenerational discussion group where we discussed current issues, told jokes, sang songs. In the end, we formed a community that defied the boundaries of age. I have also recently become an active volunteer involved with Keshet which is a Boston-based non-profit which works for the full inclusion of LGBT Jews in Jewish life. In my professional life I work to create an inclusive Jewish community which enriches each individuals Jewish journeys.
