Ken Riley has over two decades of IT and system engineering experience in the military and healthcare. Leading communication teams while on tour and holding leadership roles in large health systems has provided a fusion of experience resulting in a balanced, seasoned leader with focus and vision. As the CIO for Baystate Wing Hospital, Ken was responsible for IT security, operations and strategy. He received the manager of the year award and graduated from the yearlong UMass strategic leader development program. As the Director of Patient and Population Health Technologies for the Baystate Health enterprise, Ken is responsible for all patient-facing technologies to include mobile applications, the patient engagement platform and the regional health information exchange (PVIX). His focus is the consumer and how technology coupled with a customer feedback loop can improve and inform the experience. Currently Ken Riley is pursuing a Ph.D. in engineering management with a focus in population health. He is leveraging dual roles in healthcare to inform his research and prove that effective stratification of health populations will result in higher quality and lower cost patient care. He is a world traveler with local roots and a passion for personal health. Ken lives in western Massachusetts and is a volunteer for the YMCA and the Clark School for hearing and speech. He believes family is the key to his success and is a proud husband and father of three.
