Nearly a life-long Charlottean, Beth Hernandez is a communications and public relations leader for nationally renowned, DPR Construction. With the foresight to connect the dots between community stewardship and business strategy, Beth has made significant impact on the industry by providing communications and civic engagement leadership locally, regionally and nationally. She is currently leading a team of global communications professionals focused on DPR’s employee experience and brand proposition. Beth has been recognized throughout her career as a transformative leader that excels in communications, serves in her community with unmatched passion and inspires countless women across a vast range of industries. With selfless and intentional purpose, she is blazing a path of inspirational leadership within the construction industry and in the Charlotte community. In 2019, Beth was one of 12 honorees for Charlotte’s ATHENA® Corporate Leadership award. In 2018, Beth was honored by the YMCA of Greater Charlotte with a George Williams award, named after the founder of the organization and one of the highest achievements bestowed on a volunteer. In 2014, Beth was named one of Charlotte's 50 Most Influential Women by The Mecklenburg Times and was recognized as an ATHENA Young Professional Leadership Award® nominee. The Charlotte Chapter of the American Advertising Federation honored Beth with their prestigious Silver Medal Award for outstanding career leadership in 2013. While Beth is widely known for being best in class in her profession, she is best known as someone who cares deeply about the community. She is a strong believer in the mission of the YMCA and served two consecutive terms as the Board Chair for the Brace Family YMCA in Matthews, NC, one of the largest YMCA's in North America. A committed advocate for diversity and inclusion, Beth has also served on the YMCA of Greater Charlotte’s Diversity Inclusion and Global Committee. A graduate of Leadership Charlotte, Beth was on the board of directors from 2014-2020 and led the organization as Board President from 2017-2018. She is also a graduate of Grinnell Leadership’s rigorous Decathlon program. A competitive local runner and triathlete, Beth has been a been a past volunteer for Girls on the Run serving as a coach and mentor to young females through the organization’s middle school program, Girls on Track.
