June 1998 To Up-Date Dar Al-Khaleej Press includes the following Publications; Al-Khaleej (Arabic) One of the largest Published daily arabic newspaper in UAE; The Gulf Today (Daily English), Kul-al-Usrah (Weekly Family Magazine), Al-Shuruq (Weekly Political Magazine), Al-Athkia ( Monthly Children Magazine) and Al-Eqtisadi (Monthly Business). As Deputy Manager IT, I hold the responsibilities to look after the following for the whole group; 1- Managing and supporting a huge computer network of more than 500 computers of different types like e.g. Apple Macintosh and Windows platform HP Compaq computers. The network consist of Cisco catalyst and 3Com switches with IBM Netfinity and Dell Power Edge Servers using Windows NT, 2000 and 2003 Servers. Cisco 2500 and 2610 series routers attached to the dedicated line for E-mail server. 2- Managing Microsoft IIS, FTP, RAS , WinGate Proxy Servers, Cisco PIX Firewall, Baracuda Spam Firewall with Microsoft Exchange Server. 3- Configuring and installation of TCP/IP, Internet and e-mail accounts for users, trouble-shooting and dealing with the daily users hardware & software issues and problems. 4- Configuring and managing the Inter-Connectivity of different Operating Systems such as Mac OS ( 9 & OS X) and Microsoft Windows ( All Versions). 5- Handling News Content Management System from Transtel for accessing the news from news agencies attached via satellite as well as modems at Mac OS and Windows platform through any Web Browser client. 6- Supervising and managing all the workflow of the newspaper from the editorial, Page Designing, Page Layout (QaurkXpress & In-design) and PDF conversion for plate production using DynaStrip for Impositioning and finally the plate production at Fuji Luxcell CTP (Computer to Plate ) and Luminous Color Central print spooler for the Agfa and Hercules Image Setters for Film processing. Specialties: COMPUTERS: Familiar with Apple Macintosh, Windows platform computers and other peripherals such as Routers, Firewalls, LAN Hubs & Switches, Modems, printers, faxes, scanners, CTP, RIPs & Image setters, Can handle the networking, installations, repairs and maintenance of any kind. ELECTRONICS: Experience of Production, Assembly, Troubleshooting, Repairs and Maintenance of EPABX and CCTV systems.
