Since being an excited 16 year old working on a Saturday at my local radio station, I have spent my life in media. I've watched the transformation of the industry and am excited to have been at the heart of it during probably the most dynamic period of change in its history. The birth of online services and the disruption and opportunity which that has provided have been central to my career in the last 15 years. I've taken the company that Tim Blackmore and I founded in 1989 with two staff and a single desk through much growth, many changes and quite a few mistakes, to emerge today as a provider of radio and music services in 42 countries with offices in London, San Francisco and Auckland.In the meantime, we have spawned other new dynamic start-ups, both from the talents of staff who have left us to develop their own businesses and through our investment in companies like the fast growing audio social networking company "Audioboo".It has been a tremendous journey, one I could not of dreamt of when I started in radio in 1982, becoming Head of Programming at Piccadilly Radio in Manchester.I'm immensely fortunate to have worked with many, many talented people as we have built the company and especially to still be able to lead a team which surprises every day.
