Bio

I graduated from Brigham Young University in 1979 with a dual degree in Theoritical Mathematics and Nuclear Physics, then I spent the next eight years in the United States Air Force, most of the time as an Electronic Warfare Officer. During my tour of duty with the USAF I was involved in the air strike against Libya, the invasion of Grenada, and the attack on Noriega in Panama. I left USAF active duty in October of 1986 and took a job as a Systems Analyst for ARINC Research in Annapolis, Maryland until June 1988. Our family then moved to southern New Jersey where I worked as an Embedded Software Engineer for three years developing a command and control system for the Navy's SSN-21 Seawolf attack submarine. After that, I took a job at Magnavox in Fort Wayne, Indiana developing embedded, real-time software for the Army's Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS). In May of 1994 I left Magnavox and went to McDonnell Douglas in Saint Louis, Missouri where I developed navigation software for the F-15E Strike Eagle fighter, the F/A-18 E/F Super Hornet, the AV-8B Harrier II, and the C-17 Globemaster III aircraft. In September of 1995 our family moved to Lewisville, Texas where I worked for Texas Instruments Defense Systems developing engineering models and simulations in Ada, FORTRAN, C and C++ for HARM, JSOW, JASSM, and other missile programs. . In October 1998, I took a job as a Senior Staff Software Engineer working for the Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company in Fort Worth, Texas. I spent 18 months developing Ada software for the Stores Management System (SMS) for the F-22 fighter, then in April of 2000 I moved to a new position developing algorithms and C++ simulations for the F-16 Block 60 program. Later I performed System Integration for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) aircraft program.
