The Office of the President is the system wide headquarters of the University of California, managing its fiscal and business operations, and supporting the academic and research missions across its campuses, labs and medical centers.\r\n\r\nTogether with the university’s executive leadership, the Office of the President helps give shape to a vision for the university, managing the activities that are central to UC's public mission and essential to the idea of one university.\r\n\r\nOur employees manage multibillion-dollar fiscal and business operations with a clear focus on strengthening the financial health of the whole system. They establish policy frameworks that guide how UC’s academic and research missions are carried out across a complex network of campuses, labs, medical centers and community outreach programs. They work to ensure legal and ethical compliance, manage risk and support the health and well-being of the university's diverse workforce. Operations and Project Leadership: 20+ years leading operations and operational improvement projects in large complex environments. I have a deep foundation leading operations, developing people, and improving organizational effectiveness, processes and performance. Leadership: Led 650+ staff in UCB Campus Shared Services to provide services to faculty and staff in 250+ campus departments. At Deloitte, led 320+ staff to provide operations and facilities support across 11 offices and six states.Strategic Initiatives and Organizational Effectiveness: Developed and executed strategy for largest shared services implementation in higher education with operating budget of $70M in a politically challenging environment. Created and implemented innovative real estate strategies for portfolio of 17 offices resulting in a 11% reduction in cost.Collaboration: I strive to identify gaps and opportunities and create innovative and effective solutions. I work effectively with teams across competencies, levels, and geographies. Outcomes included: collaborated with 35+ campus senior executive academic and administrative leaders in the design and implementation of Campus Shared Services (CSS) and transition of 400+ staff from departments to CSS. Collaborated with executive local and national leaders on national shared services implementation that resulted in annual savings of over $400M. I thrive in fast-paced, complex, entrepreneurial environments, where commitment to a mission and integrity are key. I bring both a strategic approach and a strong analytic discipline to the management of day-to-day operations and to new initiatives.
