A nonprofit health system serving Greater Seattle for over 100 years.
I am the Chief Executive Officer for Swedish Health Services. I have been a proud member of Swedish for the past 10 years. As the CEO, it's my job to ensure that we always put our patients and our people first. As our community's health system, we are proud to be leading the way in providing high-quality, safe care for everyone in our community, regardless of their ability to pay. Prior to my current role, I cared for some of my favorite patients – kids. I was a pediatric urologic surgeon at Swedish from late 2007 to 2017, and was privileged to serve in various leadership positions across the organization. I formerly served as the executive director of Pediatrics for Swedish; physician lead/director for Children’s Clinical Program Services for Providence: Leadership Council, Women’s and Children’s Institute, Providence Heath & Services; physician leader Designee, Category 2: Baldrige Framework, Swedish Health Services; and as past chief of Medical Staff for Swedish Issaquah. I have also been involved with several initiatives that directly affect Swedish leadership perspective, caregiver engagement/workflow and patient care. I served as the executive sponsor of the Pediatric Radiology Council and the Pediatric Emergency Department Council; chair of the Pediatric Subspecialty CME Course, Update for the Primary Care Physician; and served on the Senior Leadership Team of Swedish Medical Center as the Pediatrics physician representative for strategic development and service line oversight. As executive physician lead of the Swedish/Providence Pediatric Specialty Focus Groups, I worked with colleagues across Providence’s five-state region. From 2010-2013, my educational pursuits have included certification in an executive development program and an MBA at the University of Washington. My other interests include participation with international care groups, most recently as a Guatemala service representative with Providence Team International.
