(NYSE: DLX), Bill led a team of professionals playing a critical role as the Fortune 1000 company transformed itself to be a Trusted Business Technology™ company. His responsibilities encompassed threat and vulnerability management, incident response, security architecture and engineering, identity and access management, business resiliency, and governance, risk, and compliance. He led the M&A diligence and integration efforts related to IT and security for company’s largest acquisition, and then championed all security aspects of the company’s largest divestiture. Bill and his team integrated the security controls of dozens of acquisitions to lead to improved security and reduced costs. At privately-owned Surescripts, Bill served Chief Information Security Officer for the nation’s leading health information network with tens of billions of transactions annually. He led all security functions and launched strategic programs including fraud data analytics and enterprise risk management. Bill spearheaded compliance initiatives and achieved successful SOC 2, ISO 27001, HITRUST, and ENHAC audits. Bill managed security and risk as Sr. Director and Deputy Chief Information Security Officer at Express Scripts, a pharmacy benefit organization ranked in the Fortune 25. He guided security strategy and planning while leading execution teams addressing vendor, client, and subsidiary risk management. Bill also spearheaded security integration projects after the merger of two Fortune 100 companies. Bill and his team were the face of security to customers and external auditors. Highly-qualified in the security field, Bill holds numerous security certifications. He has been an active leader of multiple industry groups including a commissioner of the Electronic Healthcare network Accreditation Commission, a member of the Gartner / Evanta Minneapolis Chief Information Security Officer Governing Body, and a member of the American Transaction Processing Coalition’s Cyber Council.
