SpotHero is an on-demand parking service that enables drivers to reserve parking spots with convenient garages, lots and valets. The company makes life easier for drivers across the country, including in cities like Chicago, San Francisco, New York, Washington D.C., and Boston. Founded in 2011 by Mark Lawrence, Jeremy Smith and Larry Kiss, SpotHero has raised $27 million in VC funding. It most recently received $20 million in Series B from Insight Venture Partners and Monkfish Equity, with current investors- Battery Ventures, Bullpen Capital, Chicago Ventures, Draper Associates, OCA Ventures, Pritzker Group VC and 500 Startups- also participating the round. SpotHero previously raised $4.5 million in Series A in June 2014 and $2.5 million in seed capital in December 2012.

After rounding the liberal arts bases and studying Philosophy, Languages, Mass Communications and a Masters in Ancient Interpretation, I found my professional home at SpotHero where I continue to kick ass.In my 3 year tenure at SpotHero I've had the chance to participate in building a popular consumer tech app. Although a boast, it's humbling to be able to see my impression on the company that took a chance on me. As an early employee, I've contributed to our product, our culture, our jargon, our values, and our operations. With a team of amazing professionals, we've been able to build a company greater than the sum of ourselves and I've had the chance to lead a team within it.Currently, I'm serving as the Support Operations Manager. I've found that the one thing that can surpass my love of SpotHero and tech companies is strengthening the processes and workflows of those companies.Anyways, to sum up my summary: Tech, Biz Ops, and a Philosophy of Work, those are my obsessions that have allowed me to be a leader at a leading company.
