In August 2008, Space NK announced a mould-breaking deal with Bloomingdale's, with nine stores set to open in the U.S. before Christmas 2008 and the rest to roll out by 2010. SpaceNK was founded in Covent Garden in 1993. Nicky Kinnaird, the founder, is one of the U.K.'s foremost female authorities and experts on beauty and retail. In September 2008, Space NK will also launch a stunning new concept store in London's Tottenham Court Road, designed in collaboration with Universal Design Studio.
A seasoned PR professional, I have been working within the beauty & fashion and entertainment industries for more than 13 years. After graduating from the University of Oregon, I moved to New York to join global PR agency Ketchum. For two years, I worked with clients in the consumer, lifestyle, food and beauty industries including Band-Aid Brand, St. Ives, Tresemmé and Frito-Lay. A passion for entertainment led to a move to Ketchum’s Entertainment Marketing division where I managed celebrity seeding initiatives and red carpet events for brands such as Estée Lauder, Baccarat, Robert Marc, Samsonite, Absolut, DSW, Levi Strauss & Company, Kodak, and Geek Squad.After four years with Ketchum, I moved to boutique entertainment and lifestyle PR agency BWR. There, I spent four years conceptualizing and supervising comprehensive PR campaigns for a mix of leading and emerging fashion and beauty brands as well as industry experts. Projects included the launch of both Simply Vera Vera Wang and LC Lauren Conrad for Kohl’s, and regional press and Fashion Week programs for Revlon and Aveda. Additional clients included Juicy Couture, Flirt! Cosmetics, Hourglass Cosmetics, Donna Karan Fragrances, Michael Kors Fragrances, Viviscal, B. Smith Enterprises, The Michael J. Fox Foundation, and Dr. Heidi Waldorf. In 2010, I moved in-house to establish a US press office for the London-based luxury beauty retailer Space NK. There, I oversee PR programming for the founder and several beauty brands across multiple categories. In my role, I set the publicity strategy for store openings, PA’s & events, third-party alignments, brand introductions, and product launches.
