What does it take to get to the top? This is a question I constantly ask. The facets to this question (What do They do to get to the top?, How do the leaders stay on top?, Who do leaders surround themselves with?, etc) have lead me to believe that the best way to leadership is perpetual learning and teaching. To accomplish this, I believe you first must STUDY. For me this equals books, audiobooks, seminars, webinars and even listening to sage advice of veterans in sales. Next, APPLY. This is integrating the tips, scripts, and more into real life experience and seeing what works or doesn't work, while fine-tuning and streamlining processes TEACH. What worked? What didn't? Why? How? What trends were involved? Don't hoard knowledge and experience. Save others unnecessary pain of failure. (This doesn't mean failure won't be involved in others as failure is essential to innovation and excellence.) All this comes to LEAD. The more you STUDY, APPLY, and TEACH, the more expertise you develop, making you one of the best. Perpetual learning causes perpetual success. This is the core of my professional philosophy.
