Known as a creative marketer and innovative fundraising executive ; John F. Stewart spent 20+ years in sports and entertainment before pivoting to non-profit management. His leadership roles have included corporate/strategic partnership development, sales management, brand management and large-scale event production. In 2010 he was asked to join the Boy Scouts of America to assist in the creation of the Summit Bechtel Reserve (summit.scouting.org), the largest fundraising project ever attempted for a youth organization with over $500M committed to date. Today, he is a leader in the BSA’s National Council's Office of Development in Irving, TX and the Department Manager for Corporate Engagement and Managing Director of Scouting Works based in NYC (www.ScoutingWorks.com), the internal sales agency representing all Media, Programs, Properties, Events, Licensing and Sales opportunities for the BSA. Additionally, Stewart was named the Boy Scouts of America’s first Sustainability Director in 2013. Stewart's career has included executive roles at Gaylord Entertainment, the Indy Racing League, Speedway Motorsports, Inc. and he was a senior executive at ignition, an experiential agency known for global productions, brand activations, and tours for numerous leading brands and clients, such as Coca-Cola, Delta Airlines, F1, Nokia, Vodafone, Live 8, Live Earth, Olympic Torch Relay, and FIFA. A lifelong outdoorsman and avid environmentalist, Stewart has been involved in a number of global environmental campaigns. Stewart is an active volunteer in a variety of church activities, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4H, Indiana Trail Riders Association, Hamilton County Horseman's Club and Lion’s Club. Stewart and his wife of 27 years reside on a 116-year-old Indiana farm with their three children and over forty farm animals.
