Rod started working as an Apprentice Electrician with Bexar Electric Company. By working closely with many tradesmen on both Residential and Commercial he developed a great respect and understanding for the many aspects of the Construction Industry as well as understanding of providing excellent customer service. He took his understanding of quality and customer service and entered the growing Cable Television Industry. Starting out as an entry-level installer, he quickly advanced up the ranks spending over 17 years in the field. Rod joined the management team in 1997 where he led operations teams to achieve success and outstanding performance. Working with both the residential and commercial departments, he led numerous high profile projects and was integral to many pilot programs and process improvement teams. He also acted as subject matter expert on several training programs as well as assisted in the writing of company based training manuals. This comes because of his ability to take complex processes and present them in easily understandable terms. In August of 2012, he was given the opportunity to enter the Facilities Management team at North Central Baptist Hospital, where he coordinated facility maintenance and repair activity as well as worked with multiple contractors during a 6 floor vertical expansion project. Also, served as an integral part of the preparation and successful completion of the system's Joint Commission Inspection and continuing success at Kindred Hospital. After spending time in the specialized area of Detention and Security Facility management at the Central Texas Detention Facility, until it's closure, he has joined the Facilities Management team at University Health. He is currently an Assistant Director overseeing 41 Ambulatory facilities to include The Robert B Green Campus, Family Clinics, Dialysis Clinics, Specialty Clinics and Business Centers for University Health occupying over 1 million square feet of space.
