I have spent my entire professional career working with threat, risk and security, firstly as a law enforcement and intelligence professional, and more recently working with organisations in an advisory capacity on cyber security. I have a broad understanding of cyber security and have significant experienced of delivering major projects, client engagement, business development, threat intelligence, crisis management and cyber security exercises. I strongly believe that cyber security is not a purely technical issue. Only a holistic risk-based approach which combines people, process, policy and technology can secure organisations against increasingly complex threats. This view was validated when I played a senior cyber security role before and during the London 2012 Olympics, seeing first-hand the success of combining both technical and more traditional methods of defence in delivering a safe and secure Games. I write regularly on cyber security issues, often focussing on the business impact of cyber security, In my spare time I run (usually fairly quickly), and like to read about modern and military history.
