As a distinguished medicinal chemist with over 15 years of experience and a demonstrated track record for success, I have created and led teams of highly, motivated scientists who have earned the reputation for being able to creatively and successfully tackle problems presented to them, and deliver preclinical and clinical candidates. Early in my career I worked in a start up biotechnology environment where I was responsible for integrating and building a drug discovery platform, which became the cornerstone of the drug discovery effort at SIBIA Neuroscience in San Diego, CA. The success of SIBIA, including my efforts and development of the drug discovery platform, resulted in its acquisition by Merck. Accomplishment highlights: o Delivered clinical candidates in key therapeutic areas with unmet medical needs o Multiple Sclerosis (MS) o Alzheimer’s disease (AD) o Designed, built and implemented state-of-the-art facility for Merck San Diego o Conceived and implemented state-of-the-art High Throughput Organic Synthesis (HTOS) platform o Recruited world-class scientists o Developed and integrated the Alzheimer’s Disease Knowledge Network (ADKN), a web- based tool used to enhance Merck’s internal understanding of AD o Served as member and contributor to the Sample Repository Acquisition Committee (SRAC), a library design effort to improve quality of in-house leads o Designs have consistently yielded one of the highest hit rate for any medicinal chemist o Over 70 scientific disclosures including patents, presentations and publications With a history of managing cross-functional drug discovery teams, building departments and delivering preclinical and clinical candidates, I am eager to join an organization where I can use my strengths, experience and background to deliver preclinical and clinical candidates.
