As the Director of Global Network Services at Quintiles Transnational, Brian Kachel was responsibility for the operation and integrity of all LAN, WAN, Internet, Voice, Video and collaboration technologies. To help fuel growth, drive innovation, and increase productivity, Kachel successfully led a comprehensive business transformation across Quintiles by implementing several key platforms that delivered a true borderless network allowing employees to more effectively communicate from any location on any platform. Since joining Quintiles in 1997 as a network engineer, Kachel has held various positions within IT and climbed the ranks with increasing responsibilities. In 2002, he co-founded the Global Network Services group, the first internal Network engineering group when Innovex was acquired by Quintiles. Over the years the GNS group grew to over 20 members worldwide. By 2011, Kachel had become the Head of Global Network operations and assumed responsibility for all network, IP, security and communication services. Kachel’s key accomplishments at Quintiles include the establishment of consistent approaches to delivering enterprise networks with emphasis on efficiency and leveraging technology. VPN, CVO, Unified Wireless, IPT, BYOD and pervasive video are all deliveries credited to his organization while Kachel continues to lead the charge in bringing a true unified communications vision to reality for the company. In his spare time Kachel has earned a private pilot’s license and enjoys spending time at Virginia International Raceway improving his ability to drive at high speeds with control and precision.
