An entrepreneur and former General Manager at Microsoft and Microsoft Research, with a background in psychology, technology and media, Dean has started and guided multiple teams to ship pioneering, award-winning and market leading products, capabilities and services used by over a billion people. Dean has earned multiple patents and is known as a collaborative leader and developer of products, intellectual property, people and organizations, bringing ideas from early research and envisioning to successful commercial delivery on multiple platforms, with a focus on innovative solutions for learning, productivity and healthcare. Dean has served as a technical product leader and organization leader, and consulted for education, government and business clients. As a GM and Director of Product Management responsible for product and innovation efforts for Microsoft and Microsoft Research in the US and in China, Dean directed agile, multidisciplinary and globally distributed teams to deliver advanced applications, services, tools and APIs on web, iOS, Android, Mac and Windows platforms. After Microsoft, Dean founded VRAINIUM to leverage VR and AI technologies for people skills development. He currently serves as VP, Advanced Technology at PointClickCare, advancing applications of AI, Machine Learning, sensors, devices and other technologies to improve healthcare.
